Effective Aug. 15, 2026, UPMC for You and UPMC Community HealthChoices are updating their formularies.
The following drugs and products will be changing to nonpreferred status:
- Belladonna Opium Suppository
- Cevimeline Capsule
- Cyclomydril Eye Drops
- Dicyclomine Oral Solution
- Klor-con M15 Tablet
- Potassium CL ER 15 MEQ Tablet
- Sodium Sulfate – Potassium Sulfate – Magnesium Sulfate Solution (Generic Suprep)
- All pen needles except for the following: Techlite Pen Needle, Techlite Plus Pen Needle, Assure ID Pen Needle, Assure ID Pro Pen Needle, Assure ID Duo Pen Needle, Trueplus Pen Needle
- All lancets except for the following: Trueplus Safety 28 G Lancet, Accu-Chek Softclix Lancet, Trueplus Ultra Thin 30 G Lancet, Trueplus Super Thin 28 G Lancet, Trueplus 33 G lancet, Thin Lancet and Ultra Thin Lancet (manufactured by Trividia)
Nonpreferred drugs/products require prior authorization. Preferred alternatives may be available, depending on health needs.
