August 2026 UPMC for You and UPMC Community HealthChoices Formulary Updates

Effective Aug. 15, 2026, UPMC for You and UPMC Community HealthChoices are updating their formularies.

 

The following drugs and products will be changing to nonpreferred status:

  • Belladonna Opium Suppository
  • Cevimeline Capsule
  • Cyclomydril Eye Drops
  • Dicyclomine Oral Solution
  • Klor-con M15 Tablet
  • Potassium CL ER 15 MEQ Tablet
  • Sodium Sulfate – Potassium Sulfate – Magnesium Sulfate Solution (Generic Suprep)
  • All pen needles except for the following: Techlite Pen Needle, Techlite Plus Pen Needle, Assure ID Pen Needle, Assure ID Pro Pen Needle, Assure ID Duo Pen Needle, Trueplus Pen Needle
  • All lancets except for the following: Trueplus Safety 28 G Lancet, Accu-Chek Softclix Lancet, Trueplus Ultra Thin 30 G Lancet, Trueplus Super Thin 28 G Lancet, Trueplus 33 G lancet, Thin Lancet and Ultra Thin Lancet (manufactured by Trividia)

 

Nonpreferred drugs/products require prior authorization. Preferred alternatives may be available, depending on health needs.
