Voluntary nationwide recall: Sodium Chloride (B. Braun – August 2026)

B. Braun Medical Inc. is recalling three lots (lots J6B435, J6B444 and J6B457) of 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection USP, 100 mL. Sodium Chloride is used as a source of electrolytes and water.

This drug is being recalled because iron oxide particles were found in the solution. Using an injectable product that contains particulate matter may cause local irritation or swelling. It may also block blood vessels, leading to life-threatening blood clot events.

To see if your medication was recalled, contact your doctor or pharmacy where you received it or visit the FDA website below. If you have an affected lot of Sodium Chloride or are experiencing any problems that may be related to receiving the product, you should stop using it and talk to your doctor.

As of Aug. 27, there had been no reports of adverse events related to this recall.
