Voluntary nationwide recall: Thyroid (Vitruvias – August 2026)
Vitruvias Therapeutics Inc. is recalling one lot, lot 504950, of Thyroid Tablets, USP 30 mg. Thyroid Tablet is used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid).
This drug is being recalled because the product may be superpotent. Using a superpotent product can cause hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) with symptoms such as weight loss, heat intolerance, fatigue, nervousness, muscle weakness, high blood pressure, chest pain, rapid heart rate, or heart rhythm disturbances.
To see if your medication was recalled, contact your doctor or pharmacy where you received it or visit the FDA website below. If you have an affected lot of Thyroid Tablet or are experiencing any problems that may be related to receiving the product, you should not stop taking the product without talking to your doctor.
As of Aug. 21, there had been no reports of adverse events related to this recall.
