Virtual Institute: Bridging the Gap: Foundations of Integrated Care CME Courses Available
Bridging the Gap: Foundations of Integrated Healthcare is a free educational series designed to support behavioral health and physical health providers in integrating physical health and wellness strategies into their practices and programs to support recovery of individuals living with serious mental illnesses. The series emphasizes tools, education, and resources that empower healthcare providers and individuals to become informed and effective managers of their health and health care. The virtual institute will focus on the following themes:
- SIeep Medicine
- Tobacco Use in Adolescents
- Lifestyle Medicine
- Medical conditions that mimic psychiatric symptoms
Attendance is free of charge and includes continuing education credits. We encourage behavioral health and behavioral health home plus providers, administrators, primary contractors, county partners, members, families, and other interested professionals to attend.

This presentation will review common medical conditions that can resemble psychiatric symptoms or disorders. Because serious medical issues may initially appear as psychiatric concerns, clinicians need to consider medical causes as part of a thorough differential diagnosis. The session will highlight common clinical scenarios, emphasize the importance of comprehensive medical evaluation, and help clinicians better recognize medical problems that may contribute to psychiatric presentations.

In the face of an expanding public health epidemic, what’s a provider to do? Understanding nicotine’s unique and expanding role in our community, and its effects on adolescents, is the first step toward building interventions strategies that work. Join us for a one-hour discussion of vaping and pouch use as the new pathway to addiction among our youth. Learn about the various devices available to kids, the strategies for treating their addiction, and the best way for parents and providers to have a productive conversation with the people they care about.
