Community engagement
As a division of UPMC, we share our health system’s commitment to improving the health of the communities we serve. We understand that an individual’s well-being and ability to thrive are firmly linked to the social, economic, and environmental factors that shape their community. In order to affect change in these areas, we provide funding, resources, and in-kind support to hundreds of nonprofit and community-based organizations in our service area. We also work closely with UPMC Center for Social Impact to address social determinants of health and reduce health disparities for the most vulnerable populations. Our collaborative efforts allow us to serve the needs of UPMC Health Plan members and give back to the communities who have embraced us and helped us to become the health insurer of excellence we are today.
